Lavett has been always influenced by the colorful Pictures books she encountered as a child " In Mama's Shoes" is her first endeavor in authoring  and illustrating her own childrens book. In Mama's Shoes is the lyrical story of the bond of a mother and daughter with their common familiarity with shoes and the activities they encounter with them.
